Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being. Pilates also focuses on the mind-body connection. While doing the various exercises your mind needs to be constantly aware of your breathing and the way your body moves.

This form of exercise was first developed by Joseph Pilates, and throughout his lifetime (1883-1967), he developed and refined the exercises that he championed to maintain a balanced body.

Classes are taught in small numbers (Max 8) to allow for suitable supervision while performing the exercises. This allows you to achieve correct alignment and muscle activation, while preventing injury or aggravation of sore/weak areas. A home assessment is mandatory prior to attending classes.

One-to one sessions can also be very beneficial and several regular class attendees have benefitted from a one-to-one session to develop and focus their drivers in class.
